Self-Tanning products contain ingredients that react with proteins in the epidermis to darken it from within. The products are applied and the colour develops over a period of hours. Because artificial tanning products are only active in the epidermis, they will not affect the lower layers of the skin, also no burning or blistering and no premature aging.

Applying self tan products cleanse and exfoliate the skin to create a smooth even base, if you fail to do this any dead skin cells will shed, and your tan will not last as long. Do not apply any moisturisers to your skin as this will interfere with the active ingredients – many include moisturisers.

To boost your skins suppleness wait until the tan has fully developed before applying your usual body cream / lotion. Apply the product evenly, but use sparingly on rougher areas such as knees, elbows, knuckles and heels, if you over do, just blot gentle with a dry tissue.

If any products strays onto the hairline or eyebrows wipe immediately with a tissue, as these areas will darken rapidly. Keep contact with towels, fabrics and fellow human beings to a minimum until product is fully absorbed.

Wash hands thoroughly and scrub nails, if you wish to apply again to back of hands once washing is done , use a cotton bud to evenly spread the product. Always do patch tests first incase of any allergic reaction.
